Drum brake grinding machine
Some classic racing organisations insist on drum-brakes and spoked wheels. The drums need periodic grinding to keep them true, but spoke tension can distort the drum and so it is important to machine the drum with the wheel spoked. The illustrations here are shown without the rim but that is not how they are ground. My lathe is just a tad too small to take a complete 18″ wheel so I made a dedicated using the top slides from lathes for feed and diameter adjustment. The wheel is rotated on its own axle which ensures concentricity.
