How to build a shock dyno

Build a shock dyno. I wanted a shock dyno to help improve motorcycle front forks and rear suspension units for classic racing. I had a 5 hp 3 ph electric motor which determined much of the frame design. It was flange mounted unfortunately and required more work for the mounting points. Critical surfaces were milled to ensure accurate assembly. A load cell measures the force and a string pot gives displacement information. Force and displacement signals are sent to a laptop via a Lab Jack data acquisition box. I wrote the software to process the incoming data and output humanly useful graphs and charts.
